NEVER buy meat that is marked as “Halal”. “Halal” is the term for muslim-compliant food and meat. Some people think that “Halal” must be basically the same as “Kosher”. No. Halal meat is slaughtered while the butcher is facing Mecca and screaming “allah akbar”. But that isn’t the worst of it. Halal kill plants are CONSTANTLY being cited and shut down by the USDA for horrific, horrific infractions. Most of these plants are in Michigan and upstate New York. One of the things that halal kill plants are notorious for is putting already-dead animals in the human consumption line. They will go pick up a dead cow off of a farm or ranch and instead of putting it in their rendering tank where the resulting “tankage” is worth pennies on the dollar as pet food or industrial products, they will shackle the dead animal on the normal kill line and process it as human food which is the highest-dollar product. Since islam teaches dishonesty (taqiyyah) and no regard for one’s neighbor, this kind of sickening behavior is standard. Halal plants are also notorious for general citations for filth and uncleanliness. In normal cattle slaughter plants… [e]verything is white and men walk around with water hoses and steam guns constantly keeping everything in a state of spotlessness. Halal plants are filthy and unclean. A lot of Halal meat is also labeled as “organic”. Again, don’t be fooled into thinking that “halal” means “better”. It isn’t. I would never, ever knowingly eat halal meat purely from a food safety perspective. (hattip: Ann Barnhardt)

“I do believe that the issue of global warming has been politicized. I think there are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data, so that they will have dollars rolling into their, to their projects. I think we’re seeing almost weekly or even daily scientists who are coming forward and questioning, the original idea that man-made global warming is what is causing the climate to change. Yes, our climate’s changed, it’s been changing for ever-ever since the earth was formed.” (August 17, 2011 Citizen Journalist New Hampshire)

State of Michigan launches school performance website

LANSING, Mich. —  The State of Michigan launched a school information  website on Monday that allows users to look up test scores, enrollment and school “report cards,” and that eventually will report on how well high schools prepare students for college, according to the Detroit Free Press.  The site, www.mischooldata.org, was described as a “Consumer Report for schools” by Jim Ballard, executive director of the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals.

“This is probably the most public-oriented piece we’ve ever done with education data,” Paul Bielawski, school data manager for the Center for Educational Performance and Information, told the Free Press. CEPI maintains a number of statistical databases about Michigan schools. (August 16, 2011)

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.Matthew 5:14

7.5.2011            Chicago Breaking News reported:

The nation’s largest teachers union voted Monday to support President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election bid, marking one of the earliest union endorsements for the administration. About 72 percent of the National Education Association’s representative assembly voted to recommend the president’s candidacy to its 3.2 million members, despite past disagreements between the Obama administration and many rank-and-file teachers who dislike parts of the president’s reform agenda. An estimated 5,414 members cast their support for the president while 2,102 members said no during the summer convention held in Chicago. The NEA becomes one of the first labor unions to formally support the president in 2012.

We have the same shared vision of America. [emphasis mine](The president) has always talked about the importance of education from preschool to the graduate level,” said NEA President Dennis Van Roekel. ” I don’t mind fighting on how to get to that shared vision. I believe out of that discussion may come ideas that neither one of us thought about and may be better.”

It is the earliest endorsement ever made by the union, according to Van Roekel.

Michigan Considers a Ban on Partial-birth Abortions

Michigan could be the next state to ban partial-birth abortions following a Supreme Court decision in April 2007 upholding a federal ban on them. States are banning the abortions to allow local officials to assist federal authorities in enforcing the law and in case the federal law is ever repealed.

The Senate Judiciary Committee reported out Senate Bills 160-161 on Tuesday and the bills would prohibit partial birth abortions (SB 160) and provide sentencing penalties for anyone convicted of violating the law (SB 161). Both measures received a 3-1 vote to move on to the next stage of the legislative process — the full state Senate.

Those representing Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union voiced their opposition to a ban on partial birth abortion. In June 2008, pro-abortion former Gov. Jennifer Granholm vetoed a ban on partial-birth abortions for a second time. She claimed the bill needed a health exception even though the Supreme Court had already upheld a federal ban saying such an exception was unnecessary. Lifenet.com news

IRS Tax Exempt Status

May 14, 2010 No comments yet

I’m publishing an email that I got from our friends in Pennsylvania about the Federal IRS pursuing Tax Exempt organizations for non-compliance.

In a situation like this I feel that to be forewarned is to be forearmed

“It has come to the attention of KCEA staff that tax-exempt organizations who have not filed any return with the federal IRS within the past three years face a very strong possibility of losing their tax-exempt status. Filings obviously do not apply to churches or their direct subsidiaries (a school, camp, food bank, etc.), but the rules do apply to other independent non-profits. This could be anything from an independent school to a separately-run Christian camp, a local homeless shelter, a mission board/agency, or a local youth sports association. Anything.

Attached is the article from the Harrisburg Patriot-News where you can read a layman-level version of the issue. Here is an internet link is provided to the online version of the article –http://www.pennlive.com/news/patriotnews/index.ssf?/base/news/127354205034750.xml&coll=1 .

After initiating communications to ministries in PA, we have already heard word from more than one ministry that this information “saved their bacon.” As you can think of others in your circle of fellowship, is there anyone else to whom you should share this information – perhaps a Christian group whose leaders tend to be very ministry-focused and may not be aware of this requirement? Or a charitable group one of your ministries frequently works with or helps with manpower for different events? I encourage you to think both inside and outside “the box” – regaining tax-exempt status is a costly and time-consuming process.

The Council of Nonprofits (http://www.councilofnonprofits.org) has some very helpful resources on their website. They have linked to a separate searchable database that anyone can use to find if their organization is listed and in tentative compliance. It is NOT an IRS database, so any filings within the last month will likely not be shown. To search, select the state, then proceed to search using either part or all of the organization’s title. To have accurate results, the proper Organization Type MUST be selected, but you can search under all organization types. You may select a location (county, city, zip code) to help narrow the search, but that is not required.  The database link is:  http://nccsdataweb.urban.org/PubApps/statePicker.php?prog=epostcard&display=state

The IRS has a separate fact sheet available with abbreviated filing details, requirements, and other key information. To download the sheet, go to: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-tege/filingrequirementsfactsheet_012010.pdf

If you have any questions on this information, please feel free to contact me. I will be glad to be of further assistance.”

True Patriotism

January 11, 2010 No comments yet

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness – these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens…Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

Stories in Stones

January 7, 2010 No comments yet

As many of your know, I have a presentation called Stories in Stones that is a tour of our Nation’s Capital showing the scripture and memorials to our godly heritage.

I want to share with you part of a letter that I got in response to one of the DVD’s

“I bought one of your dvds “Stories in Stone” and I recently lent it to one of the kids in the youth group and he took it to school. He has been engaging in some debates at school and one of his teachers asked him where he gets his information about our Founding Fathers. So he brought him the dvd “Stories in Stone”. The teacher loved the dvd so much that he passed it out to some of his friends. Now the teacher is thinking of showing it in class! So I just wanted to send you a thank you. Thanks for putting together that dvd and presenting a truth about our country that so many people are forgetting.”

I thank the Lord for opportunities to present our story and to have it received like this.

I’m mentioning these two articles to read for anyone who thinks it is a good idea for our government to touch anymore of our daily lives.

First, The Mafia is heavily in to Medicare fraud.

Next, they have already lost 98 Thousand Million dollars of the “stimulus package” of the last couple of years.

Would you please show me a better argument for this government not trying to solve anymore of our problems? Their solutions are worse than the problem.

Arlington

As you think of our soldiers on this day, I want to remind you of a few lines from Zell Miller’s speech delivered at the 2004 Republican national Convention.

“Never in the history of the world has any soldier sacrificed more for the freedom and liberty of total strangers than the American soldier. And, our soldiers don’t just give freedom abroad, they preserve it for us here at home.

For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives that protester the freedom to abuse and burn that flag.”

“Good people sleep peaceably in their beds tonight only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.” George Orwell

Thank you to every man and woman who proudly wore the uniform of our Country.

Elections Have Consequences

Elections Have Consequences. Three sobering words for anyone contemplating their sacred responsibility of citizenship. Last night Nancy Pelosi delivered 220 House of Representative votes for Socialized Medicine. 218 votes were needed to pass this bill and send it on to the US Senate. Consider just three of the Congressional voters from this list. Michigan Congressmen Mark Shauer and Gary Peters. Both candidates defeated Representatives, Wallberg and Knollenberg who most likely would have voted with their caucus and not supported the bill. That brings the number down to 218 for the bill.

Add  Bill Owens of NY-23 winner of the recent congressional election, and without him the bill doesn’t have enough votes to pass.

There is still hope, it now moves on to the US Senate. We are looking to our Senators to stand with the memory of their fellow Patriots resisting tyranny and saying “you’ll pass no farther.”

Remember Our Lord said we are to “Occupy until He comes.” Let’s stay strong and not discouraged as  Christian Soldiers.

Tim
