Purpose:

The MACS Junior High Competition has been organized to provide a challenge toward excellence in Bible, academic fields, and the fine arts among the students of our fundamental Christian schools across the state. This competition will allow Christian young people to develop disciplined skills in various competitive areas so that they might better serve the Lord throughout their lives. It will also motivate their achievement of greater skill in the use of God’s Word, provide a forum for measuring their accomplishments against defined standards of competition, and give an opportunity for fellowship with other Christian young people. Our goal for the competition is to glorify Christ by exercising our young people’s God-given talents.

Guidelines:

All participating schools must have the current Junior High MACS Manual.

The manual is available online at the Bethany Christian School web site, www.bcstroy.org.  The Jr. High MACS Manual will be the authority for dress, conduct, and contest guidelines. Any exceptions shall be ruled upon by the competition coordinator.

Chaperons:

We are expecting every school to have ONE CHAPERON FOR EVERY TEN STUDENTS. We also request that chaperons be responsible for the whereabouts of these students throughout the entire day of the contest.

Music:

Our Position on Potocopied Music

Choral and vocal music, sacred instrumental, and sacred keyboard selections must be sent in advance for approval. We reserve the right to judge on appropriateness of style for competition. We particularly want to stress that we do not want groups or individuals to use country gospel or contemporary Christian music (CCM). There will be a music check form available for you to list all other selections that are being performed by your students. All music check forms and music to be checked must be mailed to BETHANY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL by Friday, February 12, 2010. You will be notified by mail if your music does not check. Direct any questions to Pastor Steve Allen (248-689-4821).
